We just missed blogging about International Steampunk Day (it was held on June 14 this year), but that doesn’t mean we’re too late to talk about the upcoming Victoria Steampunk Expo scheduled to be held at Craigdarroch Castle on September 24 and 25, 2011.
Steampunk, as you may recall, celebrates the marriage of science fiction with a Victorian-era sensibility. Steampunk fans are fond of dressing up in elaborate and even beautiful costumes, so the upcoming expo at Craigdarroch Castle promises to be a good time.
For the September 24 event, there’s a blog, a Twitter feed (@vicsteamexpo), and a Facebook page that features contests and prizes leading up to the expo.
Mark your calendars and set your steam-powered alarm – this is one heritage event that should not be missed.
