Started in 1995, the Sooke Canada Day Celebration has become a major summer event on Vancouver Island.

The day features Canada Day starts with a parade led by the Sooke Pipe & Drums band, followed by birthday cake, games and activities for children, and even a raft race. The highlight of the day is a logging sports contest that displays the strength and skills traditionally needed to work in the forest industry.

The day ends live music and fireworks at dusk.

Admission is free.

Sooke's Canada Day festivities are located on the "Flats" at the at 2259 Philips Road - turn north on Phillips Rd by the Sooke Region Museum.
