The Langham Cultural Centre
First constructed as a hotel in 1896, later used as internment housing, the Langham was transformed into an arts centre with a theatre, two galleries, studios and an archival display on the Japanese Canadian internment years. The Langham provides art exhibits, theatre and musical performances, a museum experience and arts workshops to the community of Kaslo and North Kootenay Lake area. The building received the Heritage Canada Award in 1977 for the best restoration project.
