Imagine a time when just offshore, a Union Steamship would dock at a wooden float and vacationers would be rowed ashore by Bonniebrook Lodge innkeeper Harry Chaster. Mr. Chaster also ran Gower Point Store which was located across from the the creek mouth. Selling supplies and locally grown food to summer cottagers, the store also sold ice cream cones for only 5 cents a piece. Summertime and living’s easy!
